Bio

Rhett Uhland, the lead vocalist for “Rhett Uhland and The Morning Shakes”, was raised in Eads, Colorado, a small town of about 700 people in the Southeast corner of the state. He grew up working on his family’s farm. At a young age he found his passion in music and began singing in church. Around the age of 16 he began writing songs and playing music any chance he could within the area.

At 18 he moved to Canyon, Texas and began an attempt to break into the thriving music scene in Lubbock and Amarillo, TX. Riding solo for the first couple of years he travelled the panhandle playing any bar and restaurant that would have him, while still writing and building a catalogue of songs. After about two years of searching for a solid core group of musicians to form a band, Michael Botello (Drummer/Percussion) reached out to lend a hand.

Soon he had found a group of guys that were up for the task, and with that “Rhett Uhland and The Morning Shakes” was formed.

Now after about a year and a half they got in the studio and finished their first single  “Arapahoe”. This song blends both the catchy melodies, subtle twang of Red Dirt Country, with honest storytelling that is prevalent in Americana/Folk music.
